Felipe Silva Mena is a musician multi-instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin, double bass) who has forged a rich career musical since Chile (his country of origin), passing through Argentina, then with his arrival in France.

Felipe decides to form his own trio in 2019. The "trio" formula is purely reflective since it allows him to associate his South American culture with a personal interpretation and all the same quite free on the part of its two musicians. The whole thing gives life to a current jazz and accessible  through compositions and some songs more or less known.

In other words, we can consider it to be fresh, colourful, and sometimes even pop music, being part of the natural evolution of jazz.

 

Note that it is not common to find a mandolin and a drum kit in association on stage or on record. It is indeed a kind of "challenge" both in the writing of his compositions, as well as in the interpretation of the interpretation of them with the full band.

Sendero Infinito, the trio's first album, was released in October 2022 on the MazetoSquare Label.

Also, the trio had the chance to perform on the Chilean jazz stage, in July 2022, for present his album.

The band's second album was recorded at Studio Alto (Lyon). It will also be released on the MazetoSquare label in late 2024.
